Ox Block

Looks neat.

Also neat would be a pulley where a couple of wraps could be taken around a ratcheting sheave for friction but friction free when the ground crew applied pull.

I just want that background music and voice over describing my day. How MANLY can you get. Lineman manly. The manliest.

OH BOY, now I have to go buy one!......Maybe

Solo-rigging is what I thought about as well. End weight reductions is one application I am thinking of. Often times I am trying to control the descent while the other runs the tag line to pull it off the roof.

Or the other would be conifers.

Then mechanical advantage on the ground for pulling stems/trees over.

Also in the video it showed using it on the ground like a port-a-wrap. Great for light duty stuff that you don't want to take a big pOw out for.

I've used the Belay Spool from BMS for a long time.

There are a couple of threads in the archive about the Belay Spool

Wrapping the rope around the spine of the Ox. Block seems likely to introduce hockles

I have 1 at the store. It is pretty stout for a carabiner. I would use it for overhead rigging.

A little mouse told me Buckingham Mfg is in the process of making 1 for the arborist industry. That's all I was told.

Good point...i didnt pay much attention at the time but seems to me they were not using double braid. Our staple rope in this industry. Brings up another point of bend radius...

Say if someone had to catch a top solo, like yesterday and didn't want the hockles how about a couple links of roller chain like the zigzag only larger between the block and knot?

Catch a top solo with this handy device. I love it.
I don't use it a lot but in the right situation it is the bees knees. Thanks Tom.
