Just ran into a local Tree Service owner this morning who recently purchased a new to him bucket truck. It has an old Asplundh lift mounted on it, not sure of the model but it is one with 3 individual controls and also has exposed leveling chains. I seem to remember that there was a unit that was supposed to be destroyed after a date, I believe in the early 2000's but I can't remember exactly why or what the issue was. Anybody recall the issue and models involved? Help is appreciated.

When Altec bought out production of asplundh equipment they did not want to carry the liability of the equipment and would not service or sell parts to units over 25 years old. And anything 20 years and older was to be recertified annually
