I had asked for yale xtc 24 when i bought this hank of rope a year or so back. I was told that it was yale, just with a custom colour patern. The plastic inside has told me otherwise.

What I have is an Atlantic Braid 24 strand with a braided core, and 3 parallell core strands within the braided core.

Is this rope splicable, and if so, how?

The cover looks just like Yale Sumac, but the inner core definitely screams Atlantic.
Totally spliceable with Tachyon instructions. Class I double braid.

Thanks Reed, I was trying to find the proper instructions to pass on to "Limb it", it splices exactly like Cherry Bomb. I couldn't find the manufacturer, but it splices really nice, I actually like to taper the 3 strands staggered in the core while milking the tight eye.

Are you saying that you like following the instructions?

Wow. That's definitely Atlantic Braids / All Gear but you're right, @Worthaug... the cover looks just like Sumac! Colors might be different, but... weird.

EDIT: Added pic of Sumac

I try never to follow the rules, just the instructions!
Sumac is dark green and black, where does the light green come into play? I've got 120' of Sumac that is a really dark green, Jeff Gu. When did they change the colors?

Dave, quit sniffing the MaxiJacket...Poison Ivy is dark green and black, Sumac is light green and purple (see Jeff GU's photo above)

No, @Limbit, Sumac does not have a second core.

No it doesn't, Limb it. At first I thought it was poison ivy, but I went over my splicing handbook and it's definitely Sumac. And a real bear to do the final bury. I wish I were as good an artist as Reed, I'd draw the proper stagger and bury of the 3 strands. I think Reed drew it in a previous thread, I just don't know where. You may find it under All Gear instructions. Best of luck. If you just can't get it, send it to me and I'll splice what you need, I'm assuming you need a tight eye in it for climbing. Is it brand new? That makes a huge difference! Send me a PM

Sorry guys I was unaware that the splice was done already, it looks good! Where did you (Limb it) stagger the 3 strands in your splice? Just curious. Thanks Reed for the follow up to the correct thread.
