So, I began climbing as a hobby in 2019, as something to do. However, events transpired that made me take it from a hobby to a semi profession. When hurricane Michael hit florida, it downed most of the trees on our family beach house, and I was drafted in to clean up. I had nothing more than a Echo Cs 352, a 4d saddle, arborplex and a can do attitude. I spent a lot of time learing about cutting and climbing for work, and making a lot of mistakes. Many a pinched bar, struck by and misstep later, I became confident with a saw, but still nervous as a climber. Now, I feel more confident as a climber and very confident with a chainsaw. I have found that this is a enjoyable hobby, and its opened doors for me. This forum has been a huge part of my learning journey, and for that, I wish to give my thanks. Being able to ask people who have vastly more experience than me has been a huge aid for my developement as a climber. So, thank you to everyone who has answered my questions, shown techniques and otherwise shared their knowledge.
