MS 660 running rough

My 660 was running quite rough, I checked all of the normal maintenence stuff ie. Air filter, spark plug tightness (it has loosened in the past to the point of almost out). Anyways I took it to the shop expecting to spend hundred of dollars on new seals, or a new carb. The guy from the shop called me back the very same day within hours of dropping it off. He said it was ready to go all it needed was a new spark plug. So after paying for that $42 dollar $park plug I was on my way. I think next time I'm back at the shop I'm going to invest in some and check that out before getting the saw Dr. To rx it.

Yep another case of over looking the small simple stuff... I've been running saws and other similar two stroke engines for a decade and a half. Changed quite a few spark plugs in that time, and am slightly embarrassed to tell this tale. I share with you only in the hopes to save you the same pain of shamefully over looking the obvious and let me tell you it doesn't start or stop with the chain saw.

Some plugs just breakdown over time...had it happen to a friend's 201 that I modded just the other day....if that plug was fouled because of a too rich H..the saw shop would have detected it and prob timberjack...it is a 1st check in that situation...
