The MSA is hosting "Bowling Night" a fundraiser for the TREE Fund on Sunday February 12th at Park Tavern in St. Louis Park!
Come out to Park Tavern for an evening of bowling, pizza, networking, and fun with fellow arborists, tree care advisors, gardeners, and anyone who admires trees. The cost of the event is $20, which gives you shoes, bowling, pizza buffet, and a donation. All proceeds from the event will go to the TREE Fund. What is the TREE Fund? (In case you didn't know...)
The TREE ( Tree Research & Education Endowment) Fund is the leading non-governmental source of funding for research and education programs in the field of arboriculture (the science of cultivating and managing trees in a landscape). Our mission is to support sustainable communities and environmental stewardship by funding research, scholarships and education programs essential to the discovery and dissemination of new knowledge in the fields of arboriculture and urban forestry. The foundation has distributed more than $6 million to date, in the form of scholarships and research grants to students and professionals in the industry. Knowledge gained from more than 400 TREE Fund research grants since 1976 directly affects tree care practices, people’s lives and arborists’ techniques every day.

In 2011 the TREE Fund gave $394,000 to research grants, scholarships, and the long term endowment fund that will sustain this grant making in the future.
