Milwaukee have plans for top-handle battery saw?

Does anyone know if there's anything in the works to this end, from Milwaukee? I know that's not typically their cup of tea (chainsaws), but they seem to have a well-respected 18V system, and some of the other mfg's with a like battery system also have top-handle saws.

Just wondering.

Ever seen the teardown videos of the Milwaukee saw? It would be amazingly easy for them to make a top handled version. All the insides could be the same. Found the video I was looking for. 15:44 in the video shows a great cross section of the saw housing.

Move the battery so it's horizontal on the bottom and put the handle on top, and bam, milwaukee top handle version. Could be done with one extra set of molds at the factory... Whoop, two molds, there's probably a rubber mold for injecting the handle grip.

I emailed them a year or so asking this very question/suggesting they make it and never head back. I'm on their email list now and every time I get an email from them, I have my fingers crossed hoping for good news.

I actually just gave in/up though and bought the makita 16" as well as their smaller top handle. Haven't used the top handle yet, but the 16" is ok...definitely needs a bit more finesse and letting the saw do the work. The milwaukee saw is more powerful and with the 12.0 battery lasts longer vs the makita with two 5.0's.

I wonder about the idea of those battery adapters - 1) they look like straight Chinesium, the ones I found from the first fruits of a quick Google search, and 2) low resistance in the current path is critical for these battery-powered saws using Li-ion tech, so placing additional resistance in series with the battery could potentially be detrimental to performance and/or safety, but I'm not sure of the specifics of it (of course, if you place enough resistance in that path it's going to be an issue, but how much do those battery adapters add? No idea.)

By 'simple', I meant the volume of actual functional hardware - man, there's more empty space in that shell than I expected.

Why not just buy the husky version? It's proven to be a good option and works reliably with good performance.

Asking because I already have batteries and charger from the Milwaukee M18 line. If they had plans to come out with a top handle that I didn't know of, I'd have been interested in knowing before I spend $300+ on another battery/charger setup, then whatever the tool costs.

I'm curious about the adapters that @Barc Buster mentioned above too.

No personal experience with the battery adapters. I just knew about them and thought they might be an option for you. I'm probably going to be making a decision between a husky or Makita battery TH soonish. I like my Echo 2511t a lot, but I also like the idea of not pull starting the saw repeatedly on pruning jobs.
