Little too big of a pick

I always find myself swinging between, I hope he is ok, and what the fuck was he thinking! It looks like he might have notched the piece and basically dropped it into the rigging?

This have happen in France, and from what I've heard the guy is a strong contract climber. He had a really long day , he wanted to notch the whole thing but the boss said do a last piece. His climbing line was set high to help him work with the big saw, maybe he did not left enought wood... He told he crane operator to wait while he was removing his climbing line from the pick. The crane operator mist understood and pull on the piece before he was untie....

the biggest part of the problem is that he slung the piece way below the CG and gravity doesn't take a day off. he is very lucky to survive that.

I think I would have some harsh words for that operator when I got down.

just wondering why you would be mad at the operator. the climber is supposed to know how to sling his picks. the operator should have slapped the shit out of the climber for doing such a stupid move. thankfully, the crane had enough capacity to withstand that shock load without collapsing.

Flying french man said the operator picked up to early. The first thought I had before reading the flying french man's comment was " why the hell would you take such a large piece."
