leg scabbard for silky saw

I love my silky natanoko handsaw but I was getting jealous of those fancy new leg scabbards from buckingham. So I decided to make one myself. I just bought two velcro straps with d-rings on them from the hardware store and riveted them right to the scabbard. voila, easy attachment to leg and one less thing hanging off my saddle. total cost: about $2.50. you can see it in person at the mid atlantic jamboree this weekend where i will be competing for the first time ever. (I'm not nervous, really)

Here's a picture of my leg scabbard. I think the total retail was maybe 3 dollars (I had some parts at home).

I had a difficult time keeping my zubat in the scabbard.
I heated up the plastic scabbard and squeezed it together which helps a little.

Get a hold of Tom , he has a good idea for keeping in the saw in the scabbard .

Lead a clean life, eat good food, be polite. It all pays off when the saw doesn't fall out. Good idea to smoosh the scabbard a little.

the silky zubat will fit into the buckingham leg scabbard.
by the way the js bacho company has a cool looking scabbard idea for their pony saw. the scabbard sold me...it clips onto your saddle but then has a velcro thigh strap. nice and secure, but the saw is not great by any means and the scabbard is incompatable with corona, silky, and fanno.

I wrapped the scabbard in aluminum foil and put a propane torch to it to heat it.
Then let it cool with a spring clamp putting the squeeze to it.

I put some tape around the handle of my silky making it a little bigger. It sticks in nice and tight. I never loose it.
