leaves

I gotta get me some of that "economy booster" too! Looking on their site at some of their finished work, I figure that booster must be how they got that broccoli to grow tall enough to start looking like a tree!

So ,just called this guy and asked about the de-foliage system and WOW I never knew what was said...... "Suckers" dont help taper and turn into no new limbs or branches..... I asked about if he was certified and he said
" uh uh well yes ....." and then i asked what is your cert. #.... and " uh uh oh uh we have an arborist on staff" Ok so who is your arborist?....."uh uh oh uh... DON GARDNER!!!!" and my jaw drops to the floor...... Ok so Don? Yes Don....(Don is going to get mad) "Well" he says "Arborist do not prune trees they just tell you if somthing is wrong and or if it is sick......" WTF?

So, Don is a mentor of mine and Siskiyoufari and I'm pretty sure he does not work for this guy. I did not start this post to bash this guy to no end, I just thought that after a few people made some comments I'd send him a link to the thread and he might start to rethink his philosophy if arborists from around the country are comenting on the nonsence of his flier. This guy is not going to listen to any locals over the phone. while some fun poking might be in order try to keep it inteligent and maybe it'll turn this guy to the light side. Oh, and for those of you who don't know Siskiyoufari (Brian Akers), (was suprized to see he was a new born) He's a good fellow & Arborist and a awsome climber. After a 6 year or so courtship, he just came from Oregon to work with us.

The ad seems self-contradictory.

It mentions shade being good for lawns, but if the leaves are removed from trees near lawn, the grass will get less shade than before.

Unbelievable.

I like what you said Nevic, and I hope he get's the light bulb moment. If he is a guy who may have a change of heart, then you'd be doing a good thing to turn him onto real Arboriculture. Sometimes folks just get going the wrong way and need encouragement, not bashing and insults. I hope you'll be able to maybe meet with him and coach him a bit. If he does have a good heart, he'll take to it and want to learn.

If not, then he just needs to hit bottom. Always leave it the door open and maybe he'll seek you out someday.

I've tried to do the same out here in SoCal. Some care, others don't, but a few have gone on to be certified and are making some good looking trees now. They're also a bit embarrassed about who they used to be.

By the way, does Siskiyoufari still have that mullet? He didn't need to show the Pabst can to make me believe alcohol was envolved in that pic. What were the pics that he didn't want to use? :{)

the guy is a tree cutter not an arborist.....big difference

wonder if he leaves a big stub when he cuts to keep the decay away from the tree ha ha

pray for a good crop but keep hoeing
