We're committed to Jobber, but the office staff is wondering whether it makes sense to try to add/integrate Quickbooks Online for better accounting features. Insights would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I use QuickBooks online. I am not familiar with jobber or it's features. I do know that QuickBooks makes it simple to manage all accounts associated with the business. All client information, estimates, and invoices can be created. All company purchases and expenses can be documented. Clients can pay through the quickbooks invoices sent through e-mail. I run a small one crew operation. This does it all for me.

I hate QBO with a epic passion. They hold your books for ransome. Jobber syncs well with it though. Now just wish there was a plug-in for desk top qb

I have never used jobber, used QB for years until they went online with everything and feel same as evo about them now! I'm not in the tree business but am in the electrical contracting business and stumbled across an app called JOIST. It is not an all inclusive system for bookkeeping but for a small company doing estimates and invoices it works great! Just tossing that out in hopes others may find it useful. Oh and it is a free app!

What do you mean by holding your books for ransome? Not being able to back up your books? Withholding your info when trying to close out your QB acct? Tax-time issues?

They cannot transfer the data to QBD, but can transfer QBD to QBO. When you decide you no longer want to pay or would like the service they keep you data but make in inaccessible with out reactivating and paying for your QBO account, after 12 months it's all gone forever.
Make damn sure your book keep, accountant, CPA and everyone else can use QBO. It's a commitment of paying for their subscription FOREVER and EVER for what ever they want to charge

I love Jobber and assume I would get many more benefits if it was synced up to QB online. Can anyone speak to tracking multiple workers comp class codes with that setup?

Why would you want to sync with Quickbooks? We use Jobber for all client records (including online payments), just input our monies as lump sum deposits into Quickbooks, and then use Quickbooks for everything accounting related. This system works well, and I see no reason to combine them.
Note - I use a separate employee leasing option, we do not run payroll thru Quickbooks.
