YYYYaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa BAbY! I have had my CT arborist license for a while now and through talking to you guys on the buzz decided to finally go take the Isa arborist exam. Just finished the test and passed.
I’m pumped!!

Although based in Texas now. I lived in Ct for a short while and decided to get the Ct license. I found the entire exam to be way more challenging than the ISA one. How did you find it in comparison?
Confratulations by the way.

I think the CT arborist license is harder, but the Isa was defiantly a good test that took me about 2 hours to finish. Either way it was a great way to refresh on certain things and I’m glad to have the certification.
Can’t wait to put that sticker on my helmet!

It's a good feeling to pass! ISA cert is a valuable cert here in the USA. It was the best thing for my business.

Congrats man, it's a great feeling!

In these parts you need a permit to work on certain species. (It's an easy, cheap process.)

The permit boilerplate reads: All climbing and cutting SHALL be performed by a Certified Arborist without the use of spurs.

So the first time I got that question, "Are you Certified?" and I could answer, "Yes I am, I'll be the climber.", I think my chest puffed out two sizes!

Best wishes to those listed here who are taking it soon, it is not too hard, but take it slow, read VERY carefully.

As much as I resist government regulations, I think it makes sense to require trees to be trimmed by Certified Arborists.
I live just below you in Whatcom County and the city requires that 'street trees' be examined by a CA to suggest large pruning or removal. But once the permit is issued, any cutter is free to wack on the tree. No follow up to see if the ANSI standards were used during trimming.
I find that some people call me for an 'estimate', then choose the cheaper company to trim.
Frustrating...

Congrats on the new ISA Certified Arborist!

Thanks everyone. It’s nice to be part of such a respected organization and family.
We’ll see what other badges I’ll go for next winter.
That’s an awesome accomplishment that you got your board master Arborist certification.
