Interesting rigging solutions

This company makes gear for the fishing industry. There might be some pieces that would work for tree rigging.

THe solutions they've designed are clever even if their gear might not be an exact fit for arb work.

makes me wonder about the possibility of rigging rings that are mid-line compatible for adding redirects to a fishing pole that is already set up, or that rollers could be incorporated into something like the safebloc. I know that the point is to have an increase in friction, but it is a lot of work to pull a 5/8" or 3/4" rope back through that thing.

Thought the Sheaveless Block looked interesting, but being not midline attachable it probably can’t do anything better than a ring. Still, kinda neat.

Yes, the pictures are a bit misleading, they’re quite tiny. If they made one for 1/2” rope I’d try it. Ronstan seems to make a lot of quality sailing gear for a few bucks less than the Harken equivalent.

I picked up two of these danik hooks off amazon and used them with some success for a solo, remote release retrieve, branch lowering setup. You can pop the gate off of it easy. Attach hook (with rigging line) to your branch with sling, lower branch to the ground, give it a good shake to detach the hook (there was another thread on this forum where someone else explained this concept much better) and you can pull the rigging line and the sling back up to you in the tree.

It's got a toothless cam rope grab and has been plenty strong for dropping small limbs. I would say my biggest has been in the 100lbs range. Putting it on the line is a little tough, too bad it's not mid-line attachable.

the fine print says *not for overhead lifting* so you may not get much warranty support if they break or slip on you

Guys used to use rings at solid points or plan ahead differently. As for midline they’d run blocks or clevises for mid line spots they come in smaller but heavy duty enough pieces
