Husqvarna T536 Li XP tophandle chainsaw

After waiting for quite some time, the battery powered tophandle from husqvarna finally hits the market.

They will be available in the europe within 2 weeks.
Professional power for the arborists.

These new battery powered saws will be the future and its great to have such a product available for every day use.

I don't know about the USA market, but we will keep you updated about the experience with this saw in the field. I'm really looking forward pruning with it.

35 minutes of run time on a battery makes me wonder exactly how many minutes I spend running a saw during removals and pruning jobs. I guess you just keep swapping the batteries out and keep a car charger handy. Can't wait to hear more reviews.

I would love to try that out! Even if it wasn't lerfect, I love the thought of moving in the electric direction vs. buying another gas powered saw. Awesome! Thanks for posting, 'Styler.

Not bad really. I think most saws will cut for about 15-20 minutes at full power before needing refueling...... and most trees can be done in 1-2 tanks..way less if pruning.....

Also, electric motors are known for developing good torque, and the chain speed, at 65 ft pr second, is similar to a gas powered saw.

I seem to recall, that a battery pack is quite costly, from reading discussions about either the Oregon or Stihl saw.

The battery pack is indeed quite expensive, but remember you don't have to buy petrol any more.

Some other features are that you do not have to wear earmuffs, you don't have to crank it up before use and it's only a push on the button and it runs at it's highest torque every time.

Just like Treespotter I really want one !

P.s. The rope on the pic is from my mate Steven, it's a prototype rope he was climbing on back in september 2011 at the papendal Tradeshow in the Netherlands were we had the oppurtunity to do a treeclimbing demo with the T536 Li and the T540 XP.

That looks like a very nice saw! I would like to know how it stacks up against the stihl one that is out right now.

[/ QUOTE ]No need to compare. The Stihl has a chain speed of 14 meter per second and is a backhandle saw. The Husqvarna is a 20 meter per second saw available in both a top- and backhandle version.

This is the first serious battery powered saw specialy for arborists.
I don't think there is anything that can compete with this product at this time.....

We keep you informed about it as soon as we start working woth this saw. Untill now it's waiting for it. Just some days and it will be at the local husqvarna stores in here.

Thanks for the glimpse into the future TS!

I'll wait for the commercial version with a series of batteries integrated into a chest protector's back. With an extension cord running down my right arm that plugs into the power head.

There's something very similar to what I'm describing already manufactured for electric vineyard hand loppers.

Husky has an excellent opportunity here to lead.

How much does that thang weigh without the battery?

Good stuff TS.

The Pellenc system allready well known here has a backpack like you described. But in treework thats not handy and very anoying to be honoust.

The saw weights 2.4 kilo and the battery weights 1.2 kilo....
Sorry but I haven't got a converter on hands right now so you do have to make your own conversion.
