Re: Hitch Climbers\' Guide to the Canopy... Workshop

Great day all around.

It was great to meet everyone and even better to share some brews. Since I know you guys love it I'll spring for a round of blue moons next time.

Tom, did you get any bonus points from the Mrs for coming home with dinner?

The GF actually complained about my scribbling notes on new stuff I wanted to retain.  Learned a lot and a great group of guys.   George and ShelterTree ... First class and thanks for making it happen.

And here's a surprise:
We were on a high school voc tech campus and a group of about twenty young sophomores sat in on Taylor's first presentation. ONE GUY in that class!!  Pull up your socks -- the future's going to look different ... !

Re: Hitch Climbers\' Guide to the Canopy... Workshop

Great time!

Thanks, Taylor. You did a great job working with every imaginable variable and distraction, and your ability to clearly demonstrate the gear and techniques is excellent. It was great to see all the forces generated in the different systems with the load cell to calculate them. Nice!

Shelter's booth was looking good, full of temping goodies. Somehow I escaped just under $20...it could have easily been $200.

It was great to meet everyone, and to put faces together with the names of fellow Buzzers.

Very cool aerial rescue as well. Missy overcame a 130 lb. weight differential. Now that's scrappy!

Looking forward to next time!

I picked up a bunch of cool tricks as well, thanks Taylor. You did a great job! In some weird way, I missed the sound of a combine harvesting corn all day today!

Re: Hitch Climbers\' Guide to the Canopy... Workshop

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I had a great time and I'm still exhausted! I was inspired by all the enthusiasm in the group! Wonderful interaction and participation by all. I have a bunch of new friends, too.

See you guys in Baltimore.

Re: Hitch Climbers\' Guide to the Canopy... Workshop

Taylor, 2 questions. Is your CE Lanyard the 4m? And that little biner that you keep the lanyard slack back with is just a keychain biner, right?

I'm probably going to call shelter this week and bite on the CE L. Thanks for costing me $!

Re: Hitch Climbers\' Guide to the Canopy... Workshop

Hey Adam,

I was using the 4m at the workshop. That's the length I generally use.

Just a keychain biner to manage the extra.
