Having a De-Vine day!

image.webp image.webp image.webp For anyone who thinks they might be having a shit day....... I present to you a red oak, about 70', literally overwhelmed by wisteria vine. Picture is after 1.5 hours starting at the top.

Fun fact: this stuff appears to have roughly the same tensile rating as EHS cable, even when dead. And it's all going to land in a tangled mess on top of a 12 foot tall taxus hedge.
Seriously testing my anger management skills.

Around here wisteria is usually a container plant, or maybe used to climb an arbor or trellis. Not this one. My curiosity regarding this vine is fully satisfied.

The only thing worse is kudzu, and even that may be a tie between the two.

Yeah, I've never dealt with kudzu, but hear it's lovely. I guess there's always a silver lining, right?

On the plus side, at least the bucket could get to it, and the weather was great. Still, I'd rather be fishing in Montana, all things considered.

In the spring around here, it is a wall of purple. Not sure how other things survive.
At my first apartment, I parked under a Hackberry tree that had a monster Wisteria vine growing out of a cavity about 8 ft up. It was freakin beautiful! In the Spring, the birds ate the Hackberries, shit on my car and the Wisteria blooms would fall and stick to the birdshit. It looked like I drove an effin parade float!

A week ago I was cutting three dead pine that were covered in Wisteria. The entire aria was covered in the vines making it difficult to even walk. I accessed all of them from a live pine that was in just the right location. Sure is difficult to estimate time, whenever I'm dealing with vines. :hueco:
