Seeking experienced Tree Climbers
Almstead Tree Climbers work with the latest equipment and serve as team members of a tree care crew with the primary responsibility of climbing and assisting the crew foreman in the performance of all tree care services.
Responsibilities:
Perform all required ground, climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by crew leader
Assist in the performance of specialized pruning, takedowns, installing cabling and bracing
Safely operate equipment (chainsaw, chipper, trucks, hand tools)
Participate in all job site safety briefings
Be able to identify native and introduced tree and shrub species and have a working knowledge of each species' characteristics
Demonstrate and perform proper climbing techniques and procedures, pruning skills, application of approved knots and rigging techniques
Assist with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
Utilize knowledge of compartmentalization and other concepts related to tree wounding/pruning
Maintain excellent client relations and provide thorough information to clients
Requirements:
5+ years of industry experience
Knowledge of proper pruning practices for large shade trees and ornamentals
Knowledge of chain saw safety and operation
Proper (ANSI standards) tree climbing techniques
Adept in tree climbing & bucket truck operation
Driver’s License a must; CDL preferred
