Qualifications:
1. Able to perform supervisory role.
2. Strong organizational skills.
3. Ability to work with sales representatives, management and
work crews to maintain a cost efficient, professional operation.
4. Five to Ten years management responsibility for team and business-unit performance with
a demonstrated ability to translate business strategy to actionable results.
5. Demonstrated leadership skills, abilities and experience.
6. Experience with continuous process-improvement practices.
7. Firm comprehension of financial statements and analysis; risk management.
8. Understanding of the strategic-planning process.
9. Bachelor's degree in either business or horticulture related field required.
Responsibilities:
a. Coordinates crew makeup, equipment, tools and supplies
in such a way as to complete all jobs efficiently, correctly
and profitably.
b. Keeps representative informed of all changes in status of
crew members or equipment.
c. Establishes and monitors systems to insure proper
maintenance and cleanliness of all equipment and facilities.
d. Responsible for the prompt dispatch of crews and other
labor-related cost savings.
e. Responsible for the efficient operation of the office staff.
f. Responsible for the implementation of strategic initiatives.
a. Knows all company safety regulations, teaches them to
all crewmembers and insists on 100% compliance.
b. Instructs employees how to operate all equipment and use
materials safely.
c. Knows basic first aid procedures and insures that
first aid equipment is on the job at all times.
d. Fills out accident reports promptly and completely
when needed and investigates cause(s) of accidents.
a. Is responsible for hiring, firing, promotions and pay
raises of employees under his/her supervision.
b. Determines workable hours, approves all time, chargeable
and non-chargeable, on time sheets.
c. Responsible to maintain good morale and handles basic
grievances.
d. Assists owner in recruiting including but not limited to recruiting events.
a. Studies and determines most efficient way to handle each
job, taking into account such factors as location, season,
crew availability, equipment, materials, etc.
b. Knows how to use and transport materials and
chemicals to avoid waste, loss and hazards.
c. Controls productivity of each crew member and utilizes
each tool and piece of equipment to its fullest.
d. Keeps non-chargeable hours and overtime to a minimum.
e. Controls inventory for GTC,Turf & PHC.
f. Assists owner in bidding process of all material and negotiates with vendors for reduced pricing.
g. Is aware of company budget and departmental budgets and takes measures to run departments within budget in concert with the owner.
a. Assure there are sufficient, appropriate materials and
equipment to do the job.
b. Is accountable for all tools, equipment, safety devices,
materials and supplies.
c. Stores equipment andmaterial safely each night to
avoid loss by theft, vandalism, etc.
d. Knows operating condition of all equipment, recommends
and schedules replacement or maintenance in time to avoid
a breakdown.
e. Knows proper and complete operation of each piece of
equipment, sees that the crew uses the right equipment for
each job.
a. Establishes weekly, monthly and yearly sales goals.
b. Holds sales staff accountable to sales goals and return per hour goals.
c. Monitors quality of appointments made and the phonescript that office is operating..
d. Will assist as needed in sales on a part time basis.
