Gecko's with the dmm shank

Sherrill tree has gecko's with a dmm shank that is supposed to reduce ankle fatigue. I guess its a little wider. Anyone climb on them? There aren't any reviews on them. I've climbed with the standard geckos almost since they were newly released for sale. Getting an additional pair for the guys. Just curious if anyone has used them and their thoughts, or if I should save 40 bucks and stick with what works.

I have those dmm geckos (mine are from treestuff so they call them distels though). I have had them for a week or two, and they are fantastic. I can't say if they are better than the standards though because the dmm version is the only one I have ever used. In the morning I will put up a photo of the shank with a ruler and you can compare though.

I have a pair.

I think they have a compatibility issue with the spur scenders-there are two ridges where I think the spur scender requires a flat surface.

Those ridges must add strength but unless there is a durability issue with the originals I doubt they are worth the extra money.

Thanks so far guys for the input! Gecko's are surprisingly comfortable. Really curious if the could be even more so with the dmm upgrade.

DMM shanks are more comfortable than the standards (6 or 7 year old standard alu geckos, not sure if they changed the shank design). The stirrups are canted forward so the shin cups are pulled off your shin. I had to pound down the rivets a little. I really did not like the old design, chafed the heck out of my shins. Don't have that problem with the new ones. I really like the DMM version, they feel like Buckingham steels but half the weight
