Easy-to-release knots

What knots are easiest to release after a severe loading (discounting options that dramatically reduce breaking strength)? What's the best non-jamming hitch to a carabiner/shackle? For a secure line to line connection, does anything beat a zeppelin bend? For midline attachment, does anything beat a butterfly?

for severe loading with the winch, if attaching a bull rope as a winch line extension, i learned a mid line attachment knot (dont know the name) from an older former tree guy. hope this draws the picture for you:
take a bite of the line where you will connect the winch hook to the rope attached to the load.
twist the bite 3 or 4 times
take a second bite of rope of the anchor end of the line and pass it thru the top of the twisted bite
attach winch hook to the "thru" bite
load that sht the f up

CutHighnLetFly is this the one? At about 2:20 in this video shows a variant of the truckers hitch:

But, I myself prefer a bowline on a bight:

Easy to untie after load and all.

yeah thats the one at 2:20. pop out the snap/hook and it all rolls right now. no untying or any bends to break. did a mid-line cow in between all the re sets today when winching and it was a bear to break and get off the hook.
bowline on a bight is great too, just takes much longer to tie and untie, and you need like twice the rope for the knot

If pulling a tree over with a come a long or winch I extend the winch line and put a porty on it and mid line attach that to the pullover line with wraps and couple of ear tie offs.

I am really liking this circus bowline. It is much easier (and more fun) to tie than the bowline on a bight, and you get a single loop for easy handling. It is kind of a cross between the alpine butterfly and the bowline on a bight... it is the best of both worlds.

Thread title is for easy-to-release knot. However the Halter Hitch (known by some locally as the "sliding hickie") is not for heavy rigging. I was taught this when I was being taught to spur-to-prune, free climb, mop-head Willows and other Arboricultural debauchery ('94-'98). That said - I found it to be very effective on larger rigs when a Marling Hitch preceded the Halter Hitch. Way faster for ground crew to undress then a Running Bowline.
