What is the pay more or less for a Cert. and extremely referred arborist with more than 20 years in the industry! I have over 20,000 dollars in my own gear. Competition competitor for years as well as a judge/ trainer in ISA seminars to this date!

E-mail me @ hunterxian@yahoo.com if interested or to talk in more detail,

What I find amusing is when people strive for mediocrity. This is the business I have chosen. I feel it is my responsibility to continue to improve, learn, and grow. And to help others do the same. Thanks for your opinion.

An explainations as to why we are seeking someone with these credentials- Broward County has a licensure program. You need to have a Tree Trimmer's License to do tree work here. They have two types of licenses- a "Class A" license for companies with CAs. For companies with no Certified Arborist on staff, someone from the company can take a two day long class that the county administers covering safety and ANSI A300 Standards. With no CAs on staff and when you complete this class, you get a "Class B" TTL. Without a TTL the municipality can fine you and will shut down your job site. I have seen this happen.
Also, many local municipalities ask us to pull Tree Trimming Permits. So, not only do we need a permit to remove a tree, but we need a permit to simply prune trees. Same thing, no permit and they can fine you and shut you down. We are working on a project for the City of Miami and this permit requires that we have a Certified Arborist perform all of the pruning. We cannot have a CA standing there supervising other pruners' work, he actually needs to be the one pruning.
All of this work is inspected by City Foresters who all are Certified Arborists. This, I believe, puts us in a unique situation and we need Certified Arborists on every crew. So, if you want to work in a safe environment and do excellent work, let me know.

Sounds like you are in a bit of a bind there Jonathan.

But didn't your bosses just shut down an office in Florida a month ago? Wasn't there 3 good guys and a CA on staff?

Oh yeah...I just remembered...They also booted me and my certificate, to save some money 6 months ago.

I guess the "Get more $8 an hour guys with chainsaws" thing isn't working out to well.

Jonathan, I do feel for you. You're a decent guy and I think your heart's in the right place. What's the phrase I heard there all the time? "Don't take it personally, it's just business."

Have a great Day!!

Well Eric, I did not know that "you and your certificate" were interested in the commute. It seems to me that the office that did close up there was based on revenues and margins. Without getting personal, Eric, I never thought that you would be the type to use treebuzz to air YOUR dirty laundry, but now i know. Can you tell me who's biting their tongue now (me)? I don't worry about my reputation, although I do appreciate the kind words. If everyone concentrated on doing THEIR jobs, we wouldn't have to worry about other people's jobs, right? I really do wish you the best of luck.
Call me anytime if you would like to discuss this matter further.
