Clip n Step boots?

I tried on a pair of these boots and found them to feel like a second skin. What is not clear is, are they waterproof?
There is a label that says 'Event 4 layer waterproof membrane' but I've never heard of this product and when I phoned Honey Brothers, I was told that they are not waterproof.

call or email Treestuff, I'm sure they'll take care of you. In the meanwhile, while I can't remember what it said on the tin, my feet have never gotten wet in my arbpro evos unless water could get over the top of the boot.

eVent is a waterproof breathable membrane like Gore Tex, though far more breathable. I'm a big fan.
