Is there a list of approved hard hat harnesses ropes etc. that spells out what is approved and not approved in the Pendle itcc a chapter? If someone could help me put with that it would be great. If individual components meet ANSI Z133-2018 then it is good to go for a comp. there are some configuratations and a few pieces of kit that to the letter meet the guidelines, but are frowned upon, due to the nature of the competition and the value of siding towards caution.

Of allthe gear inspections I have been privy to at the chapter and International level, a pice of gear not meeting standards is the exception. Gear in poor repair or worn is far more common.

View the gear inscpection at Penn Del as an opportunity to discuss your gear and systems with some, accomplished, expereinced climbers and tree folk. Don’t look at it as a you vs. them scenario
