climber/pruner

Josh;

Its the 3rd climber position. Its Andys old spot, his back put him out on disability. A test was given in September, but no 'Qualified" candidate was found. So the position was reposted.

Corey,

Thanks for the update. I was confused because I thought Kurt had chosen someone. Well, I hope you guys get a good group of candidates.

To everyone seeing this, the New York Botanical Garden is a fine place to work.

And Corey is a great guy to work with too!!

Eric,
Thanks for the good rep Eric! We have a difficulty filling positions sometimes. There are few if any local climbers. Some of our guys commute 1 hour plus each way. Some use it as a stepping stone to bigger and better things(more power to them). The good thing is that it's not a production environment. Quality over quantity.

Could this be because its to expensive to live in the city?

Living in NY is expensive, in adition the Garden is located in the Bronx. Although I lived in the Bronx for 33 years'"New York,just like I pictured it."

New York City is as expensive as you want it to be. However, there are plenty of great neighborhoods that are very affordable and convenient. There is a small community of arborists and climbers here in the city and for the most part, we all live pretty comfortably.
