Just wanted to put the word out about the CAA's 6th Annual TCC.

This year we will be at a new location, closer to the city, and will hopefully have better weather! The date is set for Sat., Feb. 17th. (those who have been to previous CAA TCCs know we put it on rain or shine). But if the weather is very nasty, the rain date is for the following Saturday.

If anybody needs additional information, I am the chair for the TCC this year, and would be happy to answer any questions about the event.

I will also post updates when more of the logistics are worked out. It looks like, based on the amount of interest already shown, that we will actually fill the 25 spots available for the competition.

Stephen,

If you have any need for an extra judge, technician, or any help in general I would be more than happy to assist in any way you may need. Just send me a pm if you need the help.

Paul,

It sounds like we have another road trip on tap. I wonder how many volunteers we can pick up on the way down there. How about you and Kristian meet me in Cleveland and we will pick up Roger on the way.

Hey Cory,

I would be more than happy go through Kentucky en route. Lexington looks like a good meeting spot. How about Chris?

Dang, You guys don't play around!

Really looking forward to the event, this year should be our best yet!

Again, if anybody needs specific info, or just more of an idea of what we do at the Charlotte Arborists TCC, send me an email.

Chris is in South Carolina now for the holiday and I'm heading to North Carolina tomorrow. I'll mention it to him Monday, but I bet he might be interested. We might have to caravan instead of carpool.

I'm at my inlaws today. There are more computers here than people (literally). Now I love the buzz. I saw the Charlotte post....I have a good friend in Charlotte (works as the arborist for a golf course), and a good friend who used to work for Bartlett in Charlotte. Am I gonna miss a chance to go south in February? Are you kidding me? Come-on! Of course I'll go.

What city are we going to, anyway?

The wifey asked me if she could tag along, I guess there's some big doll store in NC.

I myself will be going for the tree climbing, honest.

Oh, I forgot to mention,

this year we are not letting gnomes compete. Sorry. Too many people complained about it last year.

They were hogging all of the bridges and demanding gold from spectators.

This just in!

I have the contestant sign up forms for the CAA TCC!

If anybody wants a form, just email me, and I'll send it out along with a flyer for the event. stephanzimm@mac.com

And I am not supposed to say anything, but I can say that whoever wins this year will be one very happy climber.

Oh yeah, I worked it out with the big guy upstairs to have perfect weather on Feb. 17th, too!

Hope to hear from you soon!

i heard from ncufc folks that there may be a ctw test there. Is that going to happen? I have 3 potential registrants here. I may be able to help judge the tcc too when I'm not taking the test.

Hi Guy,

We were considering administering the CTW/TCS test, but with only a month or so left, we felt we didn't have sufficient time to plan it and put the word out. We are having Scott Prophet administer the knots portion of the test during competitor check-in and the practical portion of the test during the competition just for the competitors.

Next year I would like to start a little earlier with the planning and be able to offer the full test.

I will definitely take you up on the offer to help us in judging the competition!

With a little over a month to go before the event,

we still have a few spots open for competitors, also, if anyone is interested in helping us judge events (we need impartial judges badly), please send me a message and I will forward the info along to you and try to get a handle on how much help we need.

Thanks for all your support and interest!

Stephan
