Holy Smokes this site is slow to load.
Might as well say it's frozen, main reason I haven't visited much lately.

I recently bought 2 brand new saws. The latest Husqvarna 550XP and the new edition Stihl MS261CM. Over the long term I'll have lots to report on their efficiencies and deficiencies.

Second pic is the 261 at a recent jobsite. Beautiful little saw with the latest engineering innovations.
I call it the small version of the new MS462C.

Last pic is a neighboring worksite of the ultimate tree worker.

Getting some tanks through both 550 and 261 lately. But need to grab the 562 and 372XPs alot to keep production up with the daily removals.
Been using the MS261 alot more lately as it runs flawless, quick warm up, no hot start issues.
Was 77F(25C) yesterday with lots humidity and had the 16" 23RS chain buried in 4 larger birch. The 261 feels so light to me after years of the 562XP-18" being my go to saw .
The 261 feels like a toy to me but when the bar is buried in hardwood it really surprises me. This is not the 026/260 of old.20170607_111339.webp

Just to add to my last post here's another couple pics of the "other cutting machine"

Took my 10 year old twins out to it's dam not far from our house.
We watched him working relentlessly back and forth digging up clay from the bottom of the creek and plugging up leaks in his dam.

Nice Holmen! Thank you for sharing nature. We have a beaver ''pond'' across the road from us. It's in quotes cause the water is so shallow, it's more like a swamp. No dam required. He has his stick hut all set in the one corner. There's also a scroon nest in one of the trees on the far side. All kinds of geese during the right time of the year. Seen turtles of all sorts and a few water snakes. I love the wild life.

Your welcome Coal,
Yes wild life in its natural habitat is second to none and we as arbs are blessed to share all that with them.

Put some more tanks through the 550XP today, now at about 10.
Saw runs alot better since the dealer tech did the updates on it resetting the fuel settings. But still cold blooded slow to warm up and has a pre ignition miss for a while past warm up .
The 261CM never needed any adjustments, just runs good right from the factory.
