Certified Tree Worker Test (I.S.A.) where to study

Hey out there, I'm having trouble finding material to study for this test coming up at the end of May in Orlando. Ordered the Knots Study Guide from I.S.A. catalog but there are fifty questions on the written test? Any idea what to study in preparation for the written test? email me at jczarborist@centurylink.net. Thanks alot fellow arborists!!

You need to talk to a cert. treeworker, I got mine in 1992, western chapter #449. I got a notion to sub me out and did not keep up the CEU's, but I never left the biz and now I got about 4 guys going for their cert. treeworker in Aug. this year! How cool is that?

Hello and thanks to you for your comments,
Met up with some great climbing competitors from various tree services located throughout FL up at the Arbor Day festivities in Ocala, Florida today. Some procters for the certified tree worker exam were there too and gave me the heads up for what to prep for.
Thanks Danae for forwarding me the info for todays climbing demonstration and practice. Look forward to the next time everybody comes together for the climbing practice and the sharing of ideas and skills. She informed me that you need to register for the certified tree worker exam 14 days prior to the test on May 23rd in Orlando through the Florida Chapter of the I.S.A. online or by calling the office in Sarasota.
I'm going to wait until the next test date in Aug. or Sept. because, I cant afford the $200 for the test fee at this time. Hey a big shout of thanks to Traffic Cone, the Tallahassee climbing competitors and Bennett for putting the eye splice in my climbing line. I know that I'm marking out big to these guys but, hell they deserve it for the patience they showed to us not so gifted climbers. Doug L. so smooth at climbing like a cat, stay strong and safe guy.
Thanks alot everybody,
John 'Old School' Treeman

your gonna need to know more than just climbing knots and techniques, i have mine on june 18 and ive been studying up on the ISA cert study guide which is like 50 bucks but it helps and know im reading p.p. pirones "tree maintenance" it also helps to supplement what youve read by talking to other certs and people who have a good knowledge in trees after reading the texts

Re: Certified Tree Worker Test (I.S.A.) where to s

Good seeing you there John! I think if you'll attend the pretest, you'll walk right through it. Stay safe and see you at Mead Gardens in a week!
