Cell phone storage.

I climb with my cell phone and typically store it in my leg pocket. Not only is it a pain to get at but it gets covered in saw dust(even with an otter box) and today condensation may have damaged it.

Anyone use radio chest harness or is there some cool carrier out there I haven't been able to find. Any suggestion welcome.

Anyone using the life case? I had an Otter box but was not crazy about how bulky it was in my pocket, I broke it getting into a machine with it on my belt.

I use this: Wingman Pouch

Bought it for storing cabling goodies. Awesome design (spillproof), and buys you more saddle real estate for any other goodies you take up, including phone. They even show a phone in one of the pics, but I keep it in the pouch.

I keep mine in the leg pocket on my pfanners too, and yeah, some dust gets in there, and it is sometimes hard to get at with the saddle on, but I really like the location and it stays secure and out of the way. I have not had the problem with condensation in the open pocket on the pfanners, but in the velcro pockets that are made from the gladiator material, those tend to get moist, especially in the summer when I'm sweating a lot...

When I'm climbing Ihave Arborwear Tech pants on. My personal phone goes in the lower right pocket and work phone in lower left. Its not too hard to get the phone out while climbing.

When I wear my Pfanners I put my phones in my shirt. My uniform shirt has chest pockets with Velcro closures. Same strategy...personal on right, work on left. Both phones have Otterbox covers.

I put mine in the lower leg pocket on the arborwear pants. It fits nice and tight and doesn't fall out.....often.

Also, I use the casio gzone, it has proved to be pretty durable and it is waterproof. It has sustained some long falls onto grass and some shorter falls on to conctrete.

Also, oddly enough the touch screen works pretty decently with atlas gloves on... weird

Have had this one for almost four years. Easy to get to, and keeps the phone clean. I attached the bottom of the case to the harness so it doesn't flop around. You might find something useful on this site:

I just use a small throwline bag with a draw string top. Worked great until the draw string cinch broke, dropping my iPhone from 40' was not good.
BTW, if anyone needs one of those draw string cinches, (they are a pain in the butt to find) let me know, I bought about 50 of them and would be happy to mail one free of charge to save the planet from all gas you would burn trying to find one.

With all due respect gentelmen,

It's illeagal to text or make a phone call when your driving, why would take or place a phone call when your working at hight with lives and property beneath you.? what call is so important it can't wait till your on the ground or have your ground man make the call for you.

I can't be the only climber out there who never brings a phone into the tree with him. When I'm in the tree I'm there for one purpose, work. No place for cell phones in my work zone, they stay in the truck where they belong.

Don't worry when the phone rings, I swing over to the closest branch, tie in, turn the saw off then answer the phone.

Plus I'm the owner of my company and have a good reason to answer the phone when it rings. Staff leave there phones in the truck.

I understand what you're saying funny thing is I won't climb without my cell phone. I carry a whistle as well but my cell phone is even better. If it's just you and your groundie and your groundie is injured you can dial 911, Your groundie shourld have a cellphone too so that he can dial 911 if you are injured. I know you shouldn't but I often climb alone and it is my opportunity to dial 911 if I am able.
I use it to take pictures as well.
BTW I could not climb and text at the same time even if I wanted to.
