Carabiner safeguard

That sounds very frugal ! ................ rather than buying a ready-made keeper.

HOWEVER, for years I stop by roadsides to pickup bungees that have dropped off truck tie-downs. I use them to tie-down tarp on my firewood piles.
I'm just plain cheap. ;-)

Thanks Reg !

Looks like a good idea. Have you tried using the yates 9 inch runner from treestuff to replace the carabiner? I use one instead of a biner. No side load potential and orient straight every time I sit back. Dmm just came out with some traps as well on treestuff.

About 7 years ago I bought two boxes (2 sizes) containing 500 each expecting to change them out often! Nope! Only ever had to replace lost ones when kit checking!!!...

...(983 rubber grommets for sale!)

What size grommets are they? I've been using these and I haven't lost or broken one yet.

They seem to last forever, got them at an auto parts store, they're used for brake lines and they are Tough!
Just curious what you're asking for yours $, mine were $4 for 6. Thanks.

Where did you find those, Dave?

O'Reillys Auto Parts Store, here in WI. I must say,"they are extremely durable and don't move when put in place". I bought 2 dozen of them when I saw them, I have seen them on eBay under Automotive Brake Accessories. That was almost a year ago. I should saved the seller, but I thought I was covered, at the time.

I took some measurements of my carabiner stays and here's a few pics of them.

Hope this helps, I've been looking on eBay for over an hour +, but can't seem to find them. They are however, 1 7/8" center to center, and 3/8" in diameter for the hole pattern. I tried over a dozen different searches to try to find them. The Auto Parts Store calls them brake line rubber support straps. I really hope this helps who ever is trying to locate them. Best of Luck, Guys/Gals!
