Camp Goblin Fall Arrester allowed for TCC?

Location

I just became familiar with the

Camp Goblin Fall Arrester

and was wondering if it would be approved for the ascent event, aerial rescue, or Masters? It is midline attachable, works for fall arrest and descent, and seems to ascend with little friction. I have used the Taz Love 2 but this seems even easier.

You will need to contact ISA and see if it has been submitted for review. Just off hand I would say "no" just because of the length of time it has taken for the devices currently approved to get approved.

I think you are correct- it seems to take some time for new devices get approval or denial. I will check with them.

I don't have the goblin but have been using the giant for a few years, the quality of their products seems to be extremely high, so many of the similar devices I see use plastic parts to keep them from opening when in use the giants all metal except for the brake. I wish they would make versions of their equipment that took a larger rope size, like 10.5-12.5 mm for us working people.
