Block/Ring Sling

Here's a sling idea that I've been loving. Deadeye with a Bend-Right/Beast ring on one end, and a block on the other. I use the block for canopy work and switch over to the ring for negative rigging the top and the wood at the end. Small loop of paracord tied in a bull hitch (locking girth hitch) on the block makes it easy to take it off and stow on the harness. This design saves me having to send down the block to switch for rings as I'm finishing the job...

We generally just use rings for the entire tree unless we're trying to lift things with equipment or the GRCS. What do you see as the benefit of the block for the canopy work? I like the added friction we get up in the tree from the ring.
