Best Job I Ever Had*Position Open*Oregon*Job Corps

I am going to be leaving my position of the last seven years, and thought I would mention it here. It's been a great job... position will be open in August.
I don't speak for the company, and I am not involved in the hiring. I would like to see the job go to a person of skill,vision, and commitment. Maybe I can throw in a good word for a fellow 'buzzer?
I'd be happy to talk about my experiences from an anecdotal perspective.
If you like helping folks..
If you like working with teenagers and young Men and Women..
If you have bona-fide skills as a tree worker...
If you surf...
If you fish, hunt, or crab...
If you are tired of being a "number"...

this might be the job for you.

Your job is to teach young folks tree skills and get them a job. There's some red tape, there's some attitude. You need to be able to use a computer, and you should plan to climb everyday. It's not production trimming, but these young folks need a real coach, not a point-and-yell fatso with a clipboard and stopwatch.

I know folks will want a ballpark, so figure about 40k, beni's, some paid training and certs, vaca, Fed Holidays.
As a moral beacon for youth, you need to be spotless. Expect the appropriate checks and tests.
Best job I ever had? Without a doubt.

after spending a few years at home, to raise our children to school age, my wife was ready to resume her career. She found "the" job... but that takes us back to the Willamette Valley. Mrs. Speelyei was very supportive of me and my dreams when we moved here, and I am glad to reciprocate.
