If anyone has any favourite trees / spots to climb in BC, hit me up! I'm planning on doing a self-supported bike trip, camping the whole way and touring around climbing some amazing trees, hauling all my tree gear in a trailer behind me.
Trees like Big Lonely Doug, or amazing maples, arbutus', etc. Where are your favourite trees?

I did ! Not by bike though. I realized the inpracticality of my current tree climbing setup wasn’t compatible with the bike system due to weight constraints. I’m (eventually) aiming to rebuild an ultralight system but that won’t be for a while

Yeah, I know what you mean. I frequently use my bike to ride to a climb, but I find that just the climbing gear alone constitutes a decent load. Adding camping gear would make it a huge load!

definitely. I’ve got a an ergo lite with dorsal harness that comes in around 12lbs alone.
My future tree climbing setup would include a lightweight sequoia, 200’ 9.5mm static rope, and maybe a 20’ 9mm lanyard.

Paring down the climbing kit, plus going minimalist on the camping gear, probably would make it feasible to do by bike. If one is as fit as you are Stan, I'm not!
