Armour Prus 8mm

Hey just wondered if anyone has found splicing this cord with double braid class 2, if the length required to splice is to long and its not possible to bury both eyes for use with prussic cord.

thanks

There is NO overlap. The whole piece may be about 30" long or whatever you want, but the tails are only 6" or so.

Most people remove the whole cover. I pop the core out of the side of the cover at about 6" down the rope, do the splice, then bring the cover back up and stitch it down. You got to be right on with your measurements, but it gives a better finished product (tighter cover) so it's worth it for me.

any pics of this, i'm having a hard time imagining this. I get that you pull the core out about 6 inches up, then splice, but not sure how it all finishes. also what is the taper on the final bury. I cannot find splicing directions for beeline anywhere it seems.

(I almost hate to do this, but...)

Yes, I have a pic of a few of these splices:

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Yale recommends a 6" tail. There are no directions online currently.

Pull the cover back up to the base of the eye and whip it down, as in the picture.

havent heard of this cordage, where is it available?

Not sure if it's available in the US yet.

It is made by Donaghys, an Australian/New Zealand company.

It is available here but not sure if it'd be too expensive for you to ship to the US.

Jim i will get your sample break-tested by Donaghy soon!
