Anyone find these things shrink over time? I know I've gained a few pounds over this winter from watching adult swim but my other pants still fit fine. I love them but I feel I might have to buy all new pants.

Man, my wife washes them every time I turn around (dries them, too), and mine have never shrunk, not even a bit. I'm talking thousands of washes and dryer cycles. I still have my first pair, almost ten years old!

Here's a true story :)

Anyone whose familiar with the AW gang knows that they are all cut-ups :) Getting one over on them is hard, so...

When I moved from Minneapolis to Denver I found that my Tech Pants were a little tight. At first I thought it was because I washed them in hot water or dried them or something like that. It took a few loads of laundry to make sure that wasn't the case. Still, they were tight. One day I was at my desk and noticed that they were tight. When I looked down at my belt I noticed a bit of Dunlap Disease...yop..my belly was Done Lapping over the belt. What?!??!?! then I realized that I was still eating as much as when I was climbing but my new job was half at the desk then out doing crew checks with little climbing. Gotta slow down the intake!

Now, the AW bit. I wrote an email to Bill Weber and explained that the Tech Pants had shrunk for some reason. Since Minneapolis is at about 950' elevation and Denver is Mile High I asked if AW used the Altitude Stabilization Process, ASP, on their clothing like Marmot, Mountain Hardware, North Face and the rest did? What ASP did was assure the the fibers didn't constrict as the climber went up in altitude. Imagine the result of too tight clothing on Denali, or K2, etc!

Then I spilled the beans...joke...it was Dunlap Disease...I needed to loose a little. When I saw Bill at the next Expo he told me that I hooked him! He thought that ASP was real..hehehhehe!

That said, I was one of the field test climbers for the first prototypes and have worn them ever since...no shrinkage, just a bit of my expansion, which I shrunk back!
