Arbor Trolley wheel pin problem

CutHighnLetFly

Been here a while
Location
Cape Cod, MA
just got an arbor trolley and the thing's sweet, but having a problem with the pins that go on the axle to hold the tires on the trolley.
Problem being they keep falling out. the beveled edge at the ends of the axel, and how close the hole is for the pin to the edge, allow the pin to slip pretty effortlessly.
this the first day we used the thing really, day of removals, and when tipping the trolley over on turf, it tips into the dirt a little and standing the trolley back upright pulls the pins out, and they are buried an inch under the ground. not trying to buy a whole lot of pins. i was the only one who used it, it wasnt getting slammed around.

has anyone experienced this?

i don't have an arbor trolley but why don't you replace it with a roll pin? only difference is you can't easily take the wheels off. you can buy an assortment of them at harbor freight for around $5. Very handy to have around.

Yep! Both of mine went missing the first day I had it! In the snow no less! I'm using a different locking type now.

Sorry to hear about the pins guys. I have no answer as to why they are included as they sound pretty useless at best. Please let your dealer know so they can pass on your feelings to Stein. FWIW I use R clips. Never had a problem.

You're very welcome.

The very first trolley (featured in the original video) that I thought up made in my shop, still goes to work every day, apparently....never had an issue. However, designs are often altered to better suit mass production and shipping. As a result some aspects of a design might get improved, and sometimes the opposite. With a little trial and perseverance that product can potentially make huge labor and time savings on a job. I sincerely hope it works out that way for you. Good luck and thanks for starting the thread.
