Anyone have LASIK surgery done?

I have to either get an eye exam to order more contacts or get the laser beam to the eyeball. Is this ok to do while climbing and doing this work since there is a bunch of aftercare involved I heard?

I had lasik done last summer. Surgery was on a Saturday and I was back at work on Monday. You need to be careful not to get dust and chips im your eye for a while after the surgery and you are putting drops in every hour for the first week. Worked great for me and I was climbing and cutting trees two days after surgery, just need to be extra careful with your eyes. Dragging anything across the corneal flap before it has healed could be problematic.

Yep. That's what I thought. I'm thinking about buying some goggles to wear the whole time so debris and dust stay out of the peepers.

Eyes heal surprisingly fast. I had mine done a week before I went to Iraq so I didn't follow any after care but 11yrs later I still have better than 20/20 vision.

My wife had it done in 2000. She had some pre-existing eye issues that worried her, and since they were just starting to do it here in the US and the doctors were very green, she went up to Canada where they had been performing it for years. 16 years later, her vision is still 20/20 and like Tom said, the best money she's ever spent! Truly changed her life for the better.

Goggles sound like a good idea. I use 1 of my old pair of ski goggles when I climb in the winter, but they're so good at keeping dust and crap out of my eyes, I've often considered wearing them all year.

My grandpa had it done and he is ecstatic with it I think he just takes eye drops
