Anybody Climb Mesquite?

My in-laws have a house in Arizona that has a large mesquite in the back yard that half hangs over into the neighbors yard. We're going down next month, and she wants me to trim while I'm there. I'm guessing quite a bit of wood removal based on our discussion and Google street view. I don't have real pics, but I believe this thing is 30-40 feet high. I'm a pretty good climber, but seriously, how nasty is this climb gonna be?

Super doable depending on the exact species.
One that large can easily be ‘old growth’ so take that in mind. I’d leave the chainsaw on the ground and do mostly handsaw work

Usually a pretty good climb, but the thorns grab every soft thing that is hanging on your saddle and will probably make you bleed somewhere...and cuss a lot. I've had many mesquites that seemed like it was hard to get a proper pruning cut on finer branches due to the branch angles and most reduction cuts look pretty awful from the tree's natural structure. The smoother barked branches peel pretty readily.
