Any Tracker/Sidekick drivers?

I bought a ‘96 Geo Tracker 4wd two door to tow behind my camper while I’m traveling. The sheet metal has fed the snow belt rust monsters. I’ll weld in patches as time goes by

Watching Craigslist and FB Marketplace has lead to some real deals! Bigger wheels/tires...rear receiver hitch...towbar...Ready Brake surge brake. All gotten at 40-80% savings.

The Tracker is fun yo drive but not as comfy as the Crown Vic I used to have! CV won’t do beaches and trails though

The front bumper came together nicely. I fabricated the brackets and tacked everything together. Then I unbolted it to have a weldor stick it all together. The receiver is for a 12k# winch that I saved from my Canopy Tree days. The wire rope will be replaced by fabric rope

I had an 03 Chevy Tracker for a little while, the 4 door, hardtop, ZR2. Sipped gas really slow, but otherwise was a pretty lame ride lol.

In town I get about 23-24...road upper 20's

It moves along as fast as I care to go. In a wind it does jump around though. I wonder if the tires will make a difference

Fill them with salt for ballast. It would take care of the wind issue, and the decent fuel mileage issue too. Keep burning those freedom molecules

I used to own a hardtop Tracker (Suzuki), I liked it, and even had an inverter under the seat, my hope was to run a skillsaw and drill off the inverter, but it was not quite up to the task, not enough wattage.

My first car was a 2Dr Sidekick 4wd.
Get you some springs out of a 4dr, get a 2" coil spring spacer.
Get the front and rear differentials out of the 4dr and swap into the 2dr.
Bam, perfect for 30-31" tires, which on that thing are a beast.
Cheap junkyard upgrade kit.

Funny you mention crown vics...
Run crown vic shocks in the rear ;)
