Any idea what this is?

I found that one on my original search but the bark doesn't match unfortunately. This tree had a very thin skinnned trunk, much like a Saucer magnolia in texture and color. All the other traits look good though.
It's hard to see but there are tiny yellow flowers in there. Some of the leaves look pretty close to camellia but without the serrated edges.
 
Thanks evo. I found a couple of different bay laurels. This one looks closest to Umbellularia, but it would be way out of range and the leaves don't look waxy enough.
 
Fruits are produced from flowers. Veggies come from the leaves, stems, roots, or the flower bud (when eating the flower bud itself). So technically an avocado is the fruit of the avocado plant.
