Keep those pics coming Eric! Thank you for your hard work putting it together. Everyone learned much that day. Excellent venue and even better rescue scenarios. Too much to talk about now, I'll chime in later.

Working hard on the pictures,

maybe if there were some ropes involved...

Three mannequins, three diferrent scenarios, 11 climbers, almost perfect weather except for the mach 10 wind gusts, everyone learned ALOT, thanks to all fellow students.

We did have one actual rescue: A young lady was rec climbing and her hitch seized up, she hadn't the experience level to resolve the situation herself so her arborist boyfriend had to rescue her by releasing the Klemheist at the base of the tree and lowering the FFC with trunk wrap control, a good way to prove that point, I think.

I can't wait to do it again.

sounds like a great get together. I wish every climber has/has the same opportunity. way to go guys! Did you get into "lift off" scenarios? In competitions (with only 5 minutes) it seems there is a lot of tugging of the victim going on. wish I could have been there.

"lift off"?

We had no time limits, as the 5 minute burn as practiced at TCCs is just not realistic.

I think my spar rescue was somewhere around 8 minutes....

assess the scene, tell someone to call medics, strap on the gaffs, gaff up, avoiding the running saw and disabling it, securing my TIP above the victim, installing a descender on victims line, unlanyarding victim, ungaffing victim, and lowering him down with some help from a ground belay.

Pick off. Both victim and rescuer on rescuer's line. At least, I think that's what he meant by lift off.

My spar and footlock rescues both took 8-9 minutes. Raven's FL rescue was under 5 minutes, if I recall. Very well done!

Just over 3 minutes, thanks to my KISS aproach - a fully set Klemheist IS breakable under load, making it possible to transfer the victim's weight to a rescue 8, then both victim and rescuer descend via the 8 - it's all situationally dependent of course, you cannot do this with a weak TIP or damaged rope or electrical contact, etc. A perfect rescue relies on a perfect set of circumstances, very rare.

Agreed,

PIck Off is what I meant( I think), your right TL, but really just curious about methods used to "lift" the victim if necessary...10, 9,8,7,6... Lift Off!!!!!
