We have been made aware of a local Bandit 250 that is for sale.

As you can see, the Cummins Engine has been partially disassembled.

It seems the engine took on water.

The hr meter is reading 1,600hrs, & the machine looks to be in fair condition other than the engine.

The clutch feels good.

We have another 4bt if necessary, but there is a possibility the existing can be fixed. We have the means to do so.

What's it worth as is judging from the internet pictures?

Thank You.

I own a 1993 200 with a Gas Hercules motor I bought last year that needed some TLC also. I bought it for about $3500 and it ran. I dropped about another $1000 into it in new blades/anvil, metal work....

The 4BT should be a lot easier to find engine parts for than my old Herc though. I will add that I find the tongue weight to very light on my 93. I have a thread on here showing mine if you want to take a look at it.

Good find. Overall in good condition. Doesn't look like its been abused. Straight sheet metal, paint's still there, and hopefully the hour meter is true. Hard to put a value on it. If it was running I'd say anywhere north of 8 grand, and that's the low end. Current state I see it at half that. Don't forget to look over the wheel bearings and axle, or the bearings for the disk. Keep us posted.

My thought was $5k max, although I absolutely wouldn't sink that much in it.

Cheap enough and I might would consider it for making a PTO chipper for my tractor, although I'd prefer a drum.

To me it's only worth somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500-2000.

It is either a machine that needs a new engine or a parts machine for someone. Don't think it's an easy sell for him. You should be able to pick up that machine for a price that will make it worth your while to fix it up.

In running shape it is probably worth between 6-8k.

Good luck.

If you do have to put the other motor on it; you'd better be damn sure it's right...that model motor was probably made in 12 versions that either won't fit or won't work in that application. Just be sure.

There's a similar vintage 200+ that someone took the 4bt out of on a local craigslist for $2300. Been for sale a while. Maybe that will give you some sort of reference.

I have (my first chipper/now a back up) a 1991 bandit 150 with 4 cylinder gas engine, 12" capacity. Bought it for $2000. Looks rough, runs great and really kicks butt. I can't part with it because it's a great backup machine. I think I've put about two grand total into it.

So, that chipper in question, $2500-$3000 as it is. It'll work out.

Yes there are: plus, they come in about every color under the rainbow too. [emoji41]

Cheaper the better. Depending on if you can fix motor. I see 8g min being put into that between reinforcing, paint, replacement wear items etc. and that's you doing the work. Top ide pay is 1600-1800 Hunnit, cash, the long bills were talking
