That's the plan. I have no need for it. When I make a treebay post I'll reserve your claim for this rope. I'll measure it to make sure the number on the bag matches what's really there.
I don't know why, but I am having trouble following/visualizing this. Especially that first part of extracting at 2 then reinserting at 2. Are you referencing the Samson class II dbl braid instructions when you say mark 2?
That attached pic is what the final splices I've seen look like...
No. The cover will be over the core in the eye. The end product looks like a traditional class 1 dbl braid splice. I've seen the finished splices up close but need to know what's actually different than a class 1 dbl braid splice.
That definitely pointed me in the right direction. Samson's tuck bury splice looks like it's for just the bare hmpe.
I did find the attached class 2 bdl braid instructions which seem more inline with what this proforce is. Core dependant dbl braid with the hmpe in the core. Do you have any...
I have 104 ft, according to the bag, unspliced right now. It will be for sale if you're interested. I'd like to try and splice it but if someone is interested in it "as is" I'll move it along to a new home. I got in a bulk buy of gear. There are other items I want to sell from that purchase but...
I have just over 100' of 1/2" All Gear Pro Force line. HMPE core inside a polyester cover. I emailed All Gear asking for eye splice instructions but have not heard back yet. Anyone have a set of instructions for this type of rope construction...
Anecdotally, I use 1/2" ultra slings as chokers for our chipper winch lines. They get beat to hell but protect the winch line itself from wear. The hook from the chipper goes to whatever pocket is convenient. We've stalled the chipper winch on pulls that were too heavy to budge or where the...
I recently acquired a Petzl Grillon. Second hand but looks to never be used. I wasn't super familiar with the device prior to buying it, but it was part of a bulk purchase, so now I have it. After doing some research, all the grillon devices I can find online have a swing arm to release the...
@joshuarov - I also took note how you redirected the fall of the static rigging line that had the prusik on it. Assuming that was done to keep it free from clogging the drop zone. It looked like it had a bit of tension on it. Was there a weight on it at the bottom, or was it basal tied and...
If I'm not mistaken the downrigger has multiple pathway options for the rope to route through the device for different friction amounts. I only had someone show it to me briefly after they fished it out of the back of their truck, but I was impressed with it's compact size and functionality...
There are certain things I don't carry two of, but that's because I usually know how to macgyver a solution. If my masdam rope puller fails, I can build MA systems. If my foot ascender fails, I can footlock. If you had an old timey hand crank drill auger, you'd have been set!
There's an old saying...."two is one and one is none.". You're not the first to be caught with your pants down. There are slipups in manufacturing and QC all the time generally speaking. Power tool manufacturing is not a 100% success rate. It might be close, but not 100. If you get multiple...
I did a zig zag search on amazon and found the one you bought. At least the business as listed as being in the US. I would love to know how an electronics reselling company finds themselves selling zig zags.
