Yupp. Where it looks whipped i taped it then removed the tape when done.
The core was 12 strand. 12 strand round braid is very easy. I didn't bundle mine, not sure what the strength diff would be if any
Its like doing an eye with a cover...that sounds dumb now im reading it.
So. Measure the burry length. Pull core. Milk and mark exit on core
Measure eye length from core exit. Pull core but not out completely. Pull crom tail end to get a loop sticking out
Milk standing length, loop will get...
Burried separately. I dont want the cover interfering with the core. Jacket is just for abrasion resistance and UV protection. The internal brummel eye is larger than the final eye allowing the cover to burry and extend inside covering the brummel eye beyond the throat ensuring the core isn't...
Modded rope guide
The tether was from a failed splice my boss did (small eye) the jacket on the eye had bunched up on him and the crossover bunched up.
Waste not want not, pulled his splice, got it taught and burried it, then did the spring loaded soft eye on the other end.
Interesting. First attempt on arrow frog with 50/50 reduction gave a smaller diameter, went with leaving extra strands in and got a constant diameter. A friend i gave instructions to also left extra strands in on cougar blue with good results. I do think it's going to vary greatly from cordage...
It is 300mm, from inspecting two factory ropes the completed measurements are correct.
I've helped a few people 1 on 1 do it and i really need to get around to making revised instructions
Super quick rundown
At the moment what I'm doing is measuring down 750mm, pulling the core and milking it...
28" i2i
Both are class 2 locking brummel splices with the jacket covering them for protection.
Rebraiding the tail on one of the brummels to complete it is required to get them both covered.
How long have you been trying? Maybe contact vtio or your state organisation they're usually affiliated and can get you in contact. Might be hard this time of year though.
190lb without gear. Big girl, akimbo, wrench and zigzag/chicane all work well, wrench can bind up a little but nothing horrid. Been on extatic for a bit, love it.
Going from memory from cordage I've worked on including prusik cord
Easy cordage:
Arrow frog
Yale kernmaster lines
Prism
Tachyon ash
Ocean poly
10mm and 8mm armourprus
Yale rigging lines (both of their major lines)
Bit harder to f*ck this shit:
Blue tongue
Imori
Poison ivy
Silverstreak
Tachyon...
Lanyard set up
Multi sling, useful AF
little srt redirect rolly biner
Pinto for drt redirect and other stuff
Hand ascender, mainly for srt,
Shembiner for saws
Chalk bag for bits and bopps, bandaids, snacks etc.
Hand saw
Spare biners, 3 seems to be a good number, can get quickly gobbled up...
I was removing a large silver leaf stringy bark today. I've worked on heaps of these trees, a local school we do allot of work for has them everywhere. I nearly had it down to a pole and was disassembling the head. Three limbs, i had been rigging out of one, only one limb left to rig out then i...
