Roe v Wade overturned

Not at all what I have said, but whatever. Think what you want, and I'll do the same. Which works because this country gives us the freedom to do so and vote accordingly.
Vote accordingly? Let's put abortion and gun control up to a national vote/referendum and let the chips fall where they may.. If you didn't like the outcome you would have the freedom to move to a country that is run by folks who's views are more in-line with your own. Perhaps the weather in Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, or Pakistan would suit your clothes?

It is up to the vote now, by the individual states as it should be according to the constitution rules of our country. This country was never set to be a majority rule at the federal level. Don't like that move.

If you don't like the bylaws of a homeowner association, you choose not to live there and go to another. One doesn't just go there anyways and just raise hell to get them changed. Even if that is what they do, there are rules and regulations that need to be followed to change those bylaws.

My views in no way align with any of those countries you mentioned. For you to think that they would, prove how you are twisting things. For you, I would recommend Canada or Europe...something more socialist and more authoritarian where the few have complete control to rule the way they want. You don't like the outcome (or our system) now, so go.

In fact I bet you were one of those screaming when Trump first got elected. You should have left then. May be you will have another screaming fit after this next election.

BTW I'm not a Trump fan. Did I vote for him, yes. Did I want to, no...but he was better than the alternatives. I can hate the person, but still like some of his policies compared to the other side.

You really aren't familiar with political systems elsewhere are you? Authoritarian? Do you even know what that means? You say socialism like it's a bad word, but then preach virtues of valuing all life. Guess what? Socialism saves lives and improves lives.

We get medicine when we need it, not only when we can afford it. Our police don't shoot and kill people because they happen to be the wrong colour. Our political system, while it does have flaws, allows for better representation. We even have guns for you (per capita we rank 7th globally).

We would also welcome Rico with open arms and a gift basket of Kraft dinner, maple syrup, and ketchup chips.

Hmm. I never said I wanted no gun control. I said I didn't want a gun ban, and said that guns weren't the real problem.

If something was illegally done, then yes it should be over turned. 2/3 of the people do not believe that abortion should legel for elective reasons for the full length of pregnancy (or even just elective reasons alone). The crazy thing is before roe v Wade ruling the country mind set was swinging towards making abortion easier etc. If the justices would have just let things alone, and let it run itd course, it may have been become and ammendment right. But because of how they short circuited things it made it more of a driving issue for people on both sides.

It's really quite shocking how far we've strayed from having a government For The People. There's such a huge laundry list of codes and regulations that the masses oppose, at both state and federal levels, it looks like our government primarily serves the people with money and special interest groups. Does the government need to act like a parent at times and do some things for our own good? Of course. But where are the millions of people who wanted billions in subsidies for oil and gas companies? Or a tax code that has groundies paying more personal income tax than billionaire former presidents? And the list goes on.

Are there any Caribbean islands under Canadian rule?

Roe v Wade was the law of the land for 50 years, so according to your IF YOU DON'T LIKE OUR LAWS line of thinking, you had 50 years to pack your bags and move to Afghanistan...

You might want to do yourself a favor and take a little hiatus from posting because you continue to expose yourself as a massive fraud and hypocrite...

Hmm. But I used my voting power (constitutional process) to get a unconstitutional ruling over turned. I was willing to use that legal process to make it happen, even if it took 50 years.

See that is the difference. I don't know any conservative who wants to directly circumvent the law/constitution to ban abortion or change any laws really. They may want to change public opinion, and want to speak out for their beliefs, but they want the actual rule of law to be followed. For rules and laws to be changed according to the law/constitution.

Would I be ok with an executive order banning abortion? No, I would not, even though I would luv it, because it isn't Constitutional legal. Plus then it potentially would flip flip every presidency. If a president did make that order I would fully expect, and want, the justices to say it was and illegal move.

Now if a baby was recognized as a human life while in the womb (as it is), then that baby should have all the rights of a baby outside of the womb...

See that is the difference.
What we all see is you suggesting that some should pack their bags and leave America simply because they don't agree with your minority views becoming the law of the land. Mighty American of you buddy...

Unless of coarse you care to explain your intent here-

"If you don't like our country or laws, you are welcome to move."

"Don't like that move."

"You should have left then."

Made me think of post #211 by @Tom Dunlap.

I've been following a story that is again prominent in the news about how a group of (self proclaimed) conservatives tried to abandon the rule of law, trample the constitution, etc., etc. to achieve their goal in spite of the will of the voters. In my view, it's disingenuous to claim conservatives are strictly the law and order, follow the Constitution crowd.

You do realize you just admitted that the courts recent ruling on abortion went directly against "short circuited" the will/wishes of the majority of American's and instead shoved the will/wishes of a small minority down the throats of the majority...THE FEW RULING THE MANY. Thanks bro!

Can you explain this a little better? I’m pretty sure no one is talking about an absolute gun ban.
What’s your idea of gun control, going to the police station a checking out a AR? Like a library?

I didn't say strictly. I said ". I don't know any conservative"
Is there any group (especially political) that agrees 100% with everyone on their side. Do you agree 100% with Rico and his words/actions.

I don't agree with what happened on January 6th. On both sides actually.

I too would love to hear climbhigh's idea of what gun control laws would be acceptable...

Hey @Reach. Since you declared your opposition to abortion even in case of rape/incest I would love to hear you thoughts on birth control, and the legality of same sex marriage/same sex relationships...

I apologize for my earlier remark and will do my best to play nice...It's clear that I vehemently oppose your views on abortion, but I believe you to be a man who stands behind his words, and for that you deserve my respect...

I can believe not knowing one personally. If you don't know of some, you haven't been paying attention.

Only if it's a group of one, which I suppose isn't technically a group.

Of course not, but it's better than 50%.

I'm really curious about this statement. I'm not even sure who you view as the 2 sides. Please elaborate.

Short answer to the January 6th (trying to grind a stump lol). The violence on January 6th was wrong, and those that did it should be prosecuted. Those that were waved in, should not be. Both should not be thrown into solitary confinement for a year without due process.

Even Trump continueing to insist he won is wrong.

I’m happy to share them, I only ask that my beliefs are respected the same way I respect those of others. I know we have vastly differing beliefs in some areas, and are not likely to reconcile those, though I will continue to pray that we will some day. I will always respect your skill and knowledge when it comes to trees, especially the big ones!

Personally, I believe that birth control is just fine. Nothing wrong with it because it is simply preventing (physically, chemically, or however) the sperm and egg from coming together. Before the sperm and egg join, they are just two individual cells, neither by itself is a human and neither has a soul, so preventing them from joining is just fine. My parents used birth control for years - it failed twice, so I have an extra brother and an extra sister who were planned by God, but not by my parents.

As for same sex relations, I believe those are wrong. The Bible clearly says so, and so I must believe that they are wrong, because I believe the Bible to be completely true. The law in this nation says otherwise, and I will respect that law, but I will disagree with it. I will not fight that law the way I will the laws legalizing abortion, because same sex relationships are relationships between two consenting individuals, and do not involve the murder of a defenseless child.

PS, my apologies in advance if I any of my words are confusing, I’m a bit high on Percocet today after two days in the hospital and having surgery yesterday to remove a kidney stone that was injuring my left kidney. I’ll try to clarify anything that I say that doesn’t quite make sense.

First, I hope you start feeling better soon...I have no personal experience with kidney stones, but understand that they can be excruciatingly painful...

I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions..

Heal up and try and enjoy the long weekend!
