I'm trying to decide what I should have on my new Vermeer ctx100 as a material handling bucket. I mealy will use it to forwarding small log to the street cut to firewood size, maybe occasional turning over of my chip pile. I'm looking for something that weigh not too much more than 200 LB, maybe around half a yard. any recommendations? Thx

not too much concerned about the width since the big mini can easily lift it up to clear any gate. The tip weight is close to 3000 LB. I guess I can carry 1500 to 2000 lb without too much problem.

blue diamond has 44" at 11.5 cu feet; or 52" at 12.5 cu feet. I like that. however they don't have dealership close to st. louis MO

looking at Arrow bucket now. The local Vermeer dealer carry them.

All this bucket talk has reminded me if anyone has any recommendations for bolt on bucket teeth. Can’t really dig worth a shit in this compacted glacial till and looking to add on a set

I have the 44" Blue Diamond. I bought it through Lumberjack a few years ago. Works great for moving stump grindings--and occasionally other things.

I wouldn’t worry too much about what the bucket weighs, there won’t be much metal in a 1/2 yard 200lb bucket.

Blue Diamond will drop ship, you don’t have to have a local dealership.

My 1/3 yard mulch bucket is too small. I've had it filled with bricks, tightly stacked, and it didn't tip.

Evo, I had a brush rake, like on skidders built for my bucket. Its bolts and and dangles like on a skidder blade. It's great for scotchbroom and blackberry clearing.
I think you need to fab a digger attachment. The bucket is going to be too wide.

I couldn't find the rigid digger, like a backhoe, only articulated, hydraulic ones. Something smallish, welded to the a mini universal-plate for loosening soil before loading, might work.
Maybe something that fits tight inside the bucket, and bolts in place, so as not to need to change bucket to digger to bucket to digger, especially if it is possibly to hinge it on the bucket, or for it not to be in the way of scooping (loose soil can go right over it).

I've been wanting to dig with my bucket, but its really for loading.

Great guys. Boatload of good information that I can't find myself. I'm into the BMG ones, WOW, 35" with 20 cu feet or 48" 27 cu feet! That's a yard.

I'll only use this for loading. I'll get a dedicated teeth one or combo one for digging.
