That was intended to be tricky. I was thinking that there was no other type of Cladrastis. Turns out there is platycarpus (Japanese), so the joke's on me.

You're pretty far from correct, though. This is not a specimen tree, it is in the unmanaged woodsy area that they mowed just for ITCC. In other words the trees in this part of the Morton are not inventoried. That should help a little.
