Super Quick 3:1

So Shelter Tree doesn't stock your favorite things just for you. ;) Anyway, that's cool that they have them.
I'm not really a fan of political debate, though I know where I stand when it comes to respecting others. I say this in regard to those that pay for ad space here. This is beginning to feel like a topic for another thread.

Ok all you hippified peaceniks , take this " Love" crap out of here and peddle it someplace else. Let's get back on topic.

If I remember right Petzl recommends keeping your hand on the Tibloc while it is engaged. Your thumb has to keep pressure on it so it doesn't slip.

Oh man I was having a flashback love fest, so good!

If you're using it as a 3:1 redirect not so much an issue with it slipping or doing anything else bad. Does Petzl say keep your thumb on it and pray? ;-)

Petzl says to set it each time by pressing with your thumb.

If you use it for a primary source for ascending you have to keep your hand on it.

If you use it in a 3:1 the rope has to stay tensioned, slack in the system may cause it to disengage.

Yeah, but I couldn't find the cute little 6mm ocean vectran one that I know treestuff did carry previously.
That's my jam right there, she is a little cutie. Prolly the most used item I have.

Thimble Prussic and the smallest biner I have is my 3:1, can't imagine needing something smaller or faster.
I always have two, one with a 32" hitch cord on a biner for small redirects, the other on a biner with a webbing sling. Those two and an 8oz throw weight on a biner and that's pretty much all I need other then a a hand ascender or Haas.
And Tyler if you've never heard the trick, you can make a 3:1 out of just a biner, and it's remote retrievable. Just cant set it on the climbing line while the line is under load.

Yup yup! Any biner with a straight spine and you're good to go. Dre, didn't you have a short vid of that one?

It didn't work for me...does this link work?

Used this yesterday for end-weight reduction on a redwood.

TWO THUMBS WAY UP!

So easy. I used a biner from a one of a few sling/ biner combos that's typically on my harness (speedlining, knotless rigging, redirects).

Worth mentioning, two SRT lines for EWR is great. One 3:1, one 1:1.
Helps fight rope stretch with a lot in the system. You can have half your weight on each.
You can have one super high, plus one high TIP.
You can have two different anchors to split your TIP load.

There are about 3 ways to do the On Bight Redirect with advantages and disadvantages to each. What has been working well for me when I don't do the natural is to use a Quickie in place of a ring.
I’m assuming not the girth hitch method as you explain with the ring because it gets caught in the quickie. I found that a bunt hitch with bight through quickie does a 3:1 retrievable. Your right doesn’t interfere with the bird collapsing but without my bridge being adjustable I don’t get much 3:1 when coming back in or with ascension

Kong hand ascender and Revolver always goes with me. 3:1 can easily be 5:1pick off or to help climbers attached to a zip line , or 6:1 climbing. This works just as well on the tail of my SRT climbing line that had a DdRT system on the tail.
The hand ascender also gives me extra grip if the rope is wet, or long ascent or protection from sliding dead wood or wild tosses with a throw weight above a big top multiscender.

This is actually what I have been using. Quick and light
