Quickie

Steve Connally

Been here much more than a while
Was hearing talk today that at the ITCC it was determined that a side pressure of 500 lbs of force on the pin will disengage it resulting in the pin popping out. So if you have it loaded for a canopy tie and the pin side is wedged against the tree with enough pressure it could bypass the 2 locks on the pin resulting in a potentially unfortunate situation. Is this true? Who can chime in and clear the air. I know you want to avoid that situation but.......I personally use it on all my climbs so I'd like to hear the facts.

Was this determined through scientific testing and evaluation with evidence to confirm... 500 lbs hunh...I'm very interested and will be following this one..I should just buck up and buy that enforcer I've been wanting..

What's the user guide say? Is there one? My screw links don't have user guides.

If I had a quickie, I'd want to use it as you are with canopy anchors, possibly redirects too so I'm curious.

Maybe the quickie is more like a screw link than a biner or more complicated stuff wrt needing a user guide. I'm not sure, but I want to be safe.
