I'm just Curious . . . .
I have one & it is my favorite medium saw; it runs perfectly.
Why do you want that specific saw ?
What would you pay ?

Actually, I also like how it sounds !

Why do I want an 044 ? Lightweight and good power stock ... can be made into a very strong runner with some flow enhancements. Pics of saw and cylinder with muffler removed is sop before any discussion of cash. Here is a Frankenstein 064 red switch I built ...

The 044 was Andreas Stihls baby. Some versions can be exceptional when flow enhanced- torque galore no doubt and have that “sound” to them. Sporting a 20” b/c darn near unbeatable thru the timber. Run with / exceed a modern saw without question. Only downside is more vibration imho. The sexy-boxy look of those old-school 044s just screams muscle-saw ... at least from my point of view
